The Office of the County Treasurer was established by the Michigan State Constitution. The Treasurer is an elected official and serves a 4-year term. The majority of the Treasurer's duties are set by statute, however authority is also provided for by the County Board of Commissioners and needs of our community. The Treasurer is the custodian of all County funds, and is responsible for receipting, recording and investing all money received by the various departments within the County. As Investment Officer for the County, the Treasurer is responsible for the safeguarding and investing of these monies, acting in accordance with the County's Investment policy.

The Midland County Treasurer is also responsible for ensuring adequate cash flow, the collection of delinquent real property taxes, settling with the Townships and Cities for their uncollected real property taxes, selling dog licenses and maintaining accurate records, auditing of Principal Residence Exemptions, collecting of delinquent personal property taxes for most townships, conducting the annual property tax forfeiture/foreclosure process and auction, certification of deeds, plats and tax histories, among other duties.

The County Treasurer is a member of the Plat Board, the County Elections Commission, the County Apportionment Commission, the ACT 345 Retirement Board, Retiree Health Care Plan, and other commissions and agencies as appointed, mandated or by volunteer.

Graphite Municipalities charges a fee of 2.75% or $1.00 min. to use this service. Click the link and select the department from the drop down you would like to make a payment to. 

Payments received after 5 p.m. will be posted on the next business day.

You will need your property tax ID number and the amount you wish to pay before proceeding with an online payment. If you need to determine how much is due on your property taxes, please use the Property Tax Information link on the left. You will be directed to our Tax Software Service where you can search for Delinquent Tax Information.

YOU MAY PURCHASE YOUR DOG LICENSE ONLINE.  Click here to be directed to the online license system.  You will be assessed a fee of $1.50 for each license purchased with a credit or debit card.
