Joe Blewett

Joe Blewett is from Ishpeming in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. He received his B.S in Business from Ferris State University and his Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Walden University. Joe is a Certified Assisted Living Director through the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner.

Joe was employed in marketing capacities for the media, K12 and non-profit industries. Joe became Assistant Administrator and eventually Executive Director at assisted living organizations in Madison, WI. He resides in Midland with his wife and two daughters.

Joe has volunteered with K12 scholarship applications, guardianship reviews and in a variety of ways through his church including currently serving as a Board Member. He’s earned a Master’s Certificate in Internet Marketing from the University of San Francisco – Online, his 83.15 Administrator License through the Wisconsin Association of Assisted Living, is a Trained Associate in the Eden Alternative approach to assisted living, an alumni of Leadership Midland through the Chamber of Commerce and alumni of the Great Lakes Bay Region Institute for Leaders. He is a member of the American Society on Aging.

He enjoys spending time with family, reading, psychology and traveling.

Ronda Cunningham
Director of Nursing

Ronda was the Neuroscience Clinical Nurse Specialist and Stroke Program Liaison at McLaren Bay Region since 2005 before joining Pinecrest Farms. Prior to that she spent 30 years at MidMichigan Medical Center in a variety of roles that allowed for program start-up and development.

During her time at McLaren, she assisted in the creation, development, and continued growth of the Neuroscience and Stroke Programs. She is dedicated to quality care and service delivery that maintains a positive, fun, and safe environment for residents and staff. She believes that communication is key to building strong and lasting relationships and she is always open to new ideas that will promote the best possible care in the safest manner for all involved.

She lives just a short mile from Pinecrest with her husband.  They have two adult sons and have been blessed with four grandsons.

She is passionate about providing the best care, in a timely manner, within a safe, happy environment for our residents, and staff.

Rob Maxwell
Business Manager

Rob was born and raised right in Midland and attended Bullock Creek Schools, graduating in 1977.

Rob worked for four years for the Dow Corning Corporation doing medical device manufacturing. In 1986 he accepted a position with Cooper Vision and relocated to the Seattle WA area. After five years Rob moved to the south-east corner of the state to the Tri-Cities of Richland, Kennewick and Pasco. In 1998 he was recruited by the Hanford Nuclear site’s Waste Treatment Project to take over their Quality Assurance Database. He worked there until 2002 when he returned to Midland to take care of his mother.

Rob has worked at Colonial Villa for ten years, serving as a Resident Assistant, Med Tech, Business Office Manager and eventually the Executive Director.

His passions include gardening, nature and wildlife, music and art. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Chippewa Nature Center and serve as Chair of the Membership Committee. Rob also volunteers in the Homestead Garden and can be found there every Sunday from May to September.

Liz Foster
Activity Director

Liz Foster

Liz Foster joined Pinecrest as an Activity Director in early 2017. She is originally from Gaylord and attended Central Michigan University where she received a B.A.A. in Recreation, Parks and Leisure Administration with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation.

In 2016 Liz became a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.  After college she moved to Mount Pleasant to work as a Special Care Program Manager.  She also has experience being a CTRS at the Dimondale Nursing Care Center.  She currently lives in Mount Pleasant with her fiancé who is a teacher at Mount Pleasant Public Schools. In her spare time, Liz enjoys being outdoors, exercising, camping and traveling up north to spend time with family.


Nursing Staff

Pinecrest provides 24/7 Nursing supervision by experienced and qualified LPNs. The Nursing supervisors oversee the medication distribution and wellness of residents. The nurses work closely with the Director of Nursing to deliver the best care possible.


Resident Associates

The staff at Pinecrest provides compassionate and personalized care to each resident. Every employee is trained as a cook, housekeeper and caregiver. This cross training gives each staff the opportunity to interact with all residents and understand their specific needs.

Many of the staff have several years of experience at Pinecrest.

Every Pinecrest Universal Worker is certified in CPR and AED application. The staff is offered regular training to improve their delivery of care.
