Road Patrol Deputy - Full Time - Midland County Sheriff's Office

The Midland County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a full time Road Patrol Deputy position.  The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating criminal and civil complaints, traffic crashes, as well as enforcing traffic laws.

Applicants must have an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field and be MCOLES certified or certifiable at the time of appointment.

COVID Nurse Coordinator- Licensed Advance Practice Nurse preferred                       Temporary – Full Time position

Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.

  • Flexibility in attitude, job duties and work hours required
  • 7 days a week availability-work hours spread out over morning and evening and weekends
  • Monitor Michigan Disease Surveillance System-assign case investigators to new cases as they appear
  • Have some awareness of how many cases investigators are following and how many contacts/probable’s involved
  • Train to become case investigator and stay on top of all the changes in recommendations.
  • Comfortable contacting positive cases and asking detailed questions
  • Monitor TraceForce system-stay on top of changes and communicate changes to case investigators
  • Open communicator-need to update administrators and case investigation squad on numbers and assignments and latest recommendations
  • Resource for case investigators with all the variables they encounter
  • Train new case investigators
  • Coordinate and work at mass vaccinations clinics

Hourly Rate: $39.04

Temporary Part Time Registered Nurse/COVID Case Investigator- 16-32 hrs per wk- 2 positions

Must be a currently licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.

Be prepared to work some weekend hours

  • Ability to learn use of Michigan Disease Surveillance System, Covid Case Investigation and epi-links
  • Ability to change as guidelines and recommendations change
  • Train in use of TraceForce for contact monitoring
  • Open communicator-comfortable calling positive cases and asking detailed questions. Keep rest of case investigation squad updated on cases you’re following and ask questions as they come up.
  • Help with mass vaccination clinics

Corrections Deputy - Part-Time (2 positions) - 20 hours

Looking for part time Correctional Deputies to fill openings.  Duties for this position include conducting security rounds, accepting and releasing inmates, and working with inmates and civilians and other duties as assigned by Sheriff’s Office Administration. 

Candidates must pass a Background check, Physical agility test, Psychological and Medical Evaluation and meet all MSCTC standards, including a passing score on the EMPCO Corrections test prior to appointment.  Test information can be obtained at www.empco.net  Applicants will be required to participate in an oral interview process.  Hourly rate starting at $16.14 progressing to $28.27 on a 5 year wage scale.

Under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, performs housekeeping duties to assure a safe and healthful living environment for residents of Pinecrest. Provides assistance to the residents with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and clean up.

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience performing housekeeping tasks preferably in a nursing home environment. CPR and First Aid certification within six months of hire. Knowledge of the principles and practices of long-term facility care and cleanliness.  Knowledge of sanitary procedures and practices, human behavior, observing and caring for long-term care residents, and basic office procedures. Current salary $14.28/hr.

Job Description

On-Call Nursing Supervisor- Midland County-Pinecrest Farms

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, organizes and directs the nursing and health care services on a scheduled shift. Administers medications and treatments, as required, and maintains appropriate records. Supervises and directs other facility staff on an assigned shift and assists them as necessary in carrying out their job functions. Greets and assists visitors to the facility and answers incoming telephone calls. Oversees the residents, assists and encourages them in their daily activities, interactions, and problem resolution. May act for the Director of Nursing in his/her absence.

Licensed Practical Nurse with the State of Michigan. High school diploma or equivalent, including some vocational training in nursing, or related field, and three years of nursing experience in a geriatric rehabilitation setting in long-term care, home health, residential housing, or a similar setting preferred.  Salary starting at $21.95/hr.

On-Call Youth Development Worker-Midland County Juvenile Care Center

Under the supervision of a Detention Supervisor - Juvenile Center, provides for the safety, welfare, and security of the residents, staff, visitors, and building. Supervises, guides, and counsels residents through daily activities within the framework of the day treatment and detention units. Enforces rules within a behavior management setting by providing positive and authoritative reinforcements. Prepares a variety of reports, court reports, and documents detailing residents functioning in a structured setting.

 Associate’s Degree in social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, counseling, or related field and two year of progressively more responsible experience in a child care institution detention or juvenile residential treatment facilities.  Valid Michigan Vehicle Operator’s License. Must obtain certification in CPR, CPI and First Aid to maintain employment.  Current salary $18.16/hr
