Bridgette Gransden, Administrator/Controller

Bridgette Gransden is the Administrator/Controller for the County of Midland.  She began her career at the County in 1994 as the Finance Director and transitioned to her current role in 2009.  Prior to working at the County she spent three years in the public accounting arena where she earned her certification as a CPA.

Bridgette was born and raised in mid Michigan and is a graduate of Northwood University.  In 1999, she received the Northwood University Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award.  Although her degree focused on accounting and finances, she quickly discovered her passion for good government upon making the commitment to public service.  She recently completed both the Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executives in State and Local Government leadership program and the Senior Executive Institute at the University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service.

She is currently serving on the Midland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Midland Area Community Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee, MidMichigan Health Fund Development Committee and the Community Success Panel.  She actively volunteers for other nonprofit organizations in the Midland Community and was recently recognized as the 2011 Leadership Midland Alumni Association’s Leader of the Year.

Bridgette is an active member of a variety of professional organizations including the Leadership Midland Alumni Association; Michigan Association of County Administrative Officers (MACAO); International City/County Managers Association (ICMA); Michigan Local Government Managers Association; Michigan Government Finance Officers Association; American Institute of Public Accountants; Michigan Association of Public Accountants; and the Association of Government Accountants.
