Under the general direction of the Administrator/Controller, responsible for ensuring that a system of accounting is installed and properly kept in all county functions.  Provides support and direction to other departments regarding fiscal management and financial controls.  Oversees accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, payroll, purchasing, contract and grant administration and employee benefit functions.  Directs and assists with the annual audit and budget.Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance.  CPA desirable.  Five years progressively responsible governmental accounting experience which included budgeting, auditing, payroll, benefits, grants, purchasing and general and subsidiary ledgers.  Prior supervisory experience required; previous experience working with collective bargaining groups highly desired.Current salary range is $59,324 to $84,749.  Midland County offers a competitive fringe benefit package.
