The goal of the immunization program in Midland County is to increase vaccine immunization coverage, decreasing levels of vaccine-preventable diseases in Michigan.

Midland County Health Department is gearing up for the start of school.  Please schedule your child's appointment as soon as possible.  There are new 6th grade requirements (started Fall 2010) that include a second chickenpox vaccine, meningitis vaccine and whooping cough vaccine (Varicella, MCV4 & Tdap).  Hepatits A and HPV are also recommended for this age group.  Many older teens and college-age young adults are also missing these vaccines.

Immunization Clinic services comply with current guidelines and recommendations of CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) and ACIP (Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices), AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics), and the AAFP (American Academy of Family Physicians). The clinic follows established immunization protocols under the guidance of the Medical Director.

Pneumonia vaccine is available year round by appointment.
