The Health Department assists and enrolls income eligible individuals, by appointment, through the application process for the following programs:
Insurance for children of income eligible families and income eligible pregnant women.
Insurance for children of income eligible working families without insurance and who do not qualify for Healthy Kids.
Maternity Outpatient Medical Services - Insurance for income eligible pregnant women.
Clients who might be eligible for expanded benefits under the Medicaid Healthy Kids Programs will be referred to the Department of Human Services.
Midland Health Plan
Midland Health Plan B is no longer accepting applications as of October 1,2013. Due to the start of the Affordable Care Act other health insurance options are available. These options will provide more benefits than Midland Health Plan B. If you are currently enrolled in Midland Health Plan B your benefits will continue until March 31,2014. Midland Lions Club Sight and Hearing Conservation Project provides financial assistance for eye examination and glasses or hearing evaluation and hearing aids. First Call for Help provides enrollment and application assistance.
Children's Special Health Care
A registered nurse coordinates family support and care to children and some adults with chronic special health care needs who qualify by diagnosis. This program provides payment for specialty medical care to the families or clients who qualify. Assistance for diagnosis and treatment is available without charge. There is no income limitation.
Helping Hands Dental Care
Helping Hands Dental Center is open to Medicaid recipients who live in Midland County. Call 989-837-9740 for information, or to schedule an appointment.
