Sunday, September 7, 2014 marks the date of the 10th annual Parkapalooza festival at Midland County's beautiful Sanford Lake Park. Since 2005, Parkapalooza has given mid-Michigan one of the very best end-of-summer parties under the sun.
The festival is put together by the DStreet Music Foundation and the Midland County Parks and Recreation Commission , and is held on the second Sunday of each September. All of the entertainment and activities at Parkapalooza are free to the public!
We have been able to turn a wild idea of live music on the beach in 2005 to a much-anticipated annual event, said Ed Kerns, Vice President of the DStreet board, and Park Ranger for Sanford Lake Park. The festival just continues to grow, year-after-year.
Eight area bands will play from noon until 8:00pm on the Parkapalooza stage. Festivities will also include a rock climbing wall, a sand-sculpting contest, and many other activities.
