Sanford Lake Park

Think of it as the little Sahara desert with volleyball. With over a half-mile of lake frontage and 1000 feet of soft, sandy beach on the shores of Sanford Lake, this popular recreation area is a wonderful spot to nurture that golden tan or sip a cool drink and enjoy the sun. Had enough sun? Why not stake claim to a picnic table beneath a shade tree and cook up some lunch on the barbecue?

Let the kids play in the nearby playground while dinner sizzles. The boat launch is the best on Sanford Lake with 3 slips to choose from, it's easy in and easy out. Sanford Lake is great for fishing, skiing or pleasure boating. And, with the county set to break ground on a much-anticipated $1-million improvement project this summer, Sanford Lake Park is only going to get that much better. A spray play park for the youngsters, a new fishing pier, revamped boating facilities, and dramatically improved accessibility for persons with disabilities are a few of the planned upgrades.

Here's an idea; next visit bring your entire family or company to share in the fun. The park has two big picnic pavilions available to rent that are perfect for large gatherings. Each pavilion has nearby parking, a horseshoe pit, a volleyball court and electricity.
